SUNNYVALE, Calif., — Aug. 23, 2012 — MHL, LLC today announced the appointment of Dr. Judy Chen as president of the MHL Consortium. Chen will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Consortium, focusing on the continued promotion and adoption of the MHL specification. Chen succeeds Tim Wong who has chosen to move into a strategic leadership position at Silicon Image, the agent for the MHL Consortium.

Most recently, Chen served as senior director of marketing and business development for the MHL Consortium where she played a key role in building MHL’s ecosystem of retailers, application developers and mobile device carriers. Dr. Chen was instrumental in generating awareness around MHL technology and driving new product categories including automotive infotainment systems, A/V receivers, media streaming sticks and more.

The MHL Consortium thanks Tim Wong for his tremendous dedication and contribution to help make the MHL standard a global success. Under his leadership, the Consortium surpassed 150 licensees in less than two years and, by the end of 2012, it is estimated that more than 200 million MHL-enabled products will have shipped worldwide.

The MHL standard is rapidly becoming the de facto HD connectivity solution for the delivery of a seamless and interactive user experience when connecting a mobile device to a larger screen display.
