SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 10, 2010 - MHL, LLC, the entity responsible for administering the MHL Consortium and the adoption, licensing, and promotion of the MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) Specification, today announced that Tim Wong has been appointed president. As president, Mr. Wong will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Consortium and its efforts in promoting the MHL Specification, a mobile video/audio 1080p HD interface standard, optimized for directly connecting mobile phones and other portable devices to high-definition televisions (HDTVs). Other unique benefits of the MHL technology include enabling the display to provide power to charge mobile device batteries over a single cable and control of the mobile device via the television remote control.

Tim Wong is a seasoned executive with decades of experience in the high technology industry and a successful track record for utilizing his broad and deep technical knowledge and business acumen to drive technology initiatives to market. Mr. Wong most recently served as director of program management at Qualcomm where he managed the connectivity and wireless modules portfolio (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, broadcast TV, GPS, USB, HDMI, UWB, sensors, wireless power, and Gobi modules).

Previous appointments include director of marketing at Airgo Networks, Inc., director of customer engineering at Ubicom, Inc., founder and chief technology officer at Ashley Kumar Co. and deputy director of applications engineering at AT&T Submarine Systems, Inc. Mr. Wong also has extensive experience with standards organizations such as IEEE 802.11 and 802.15 as well as industry certification bodies including the Wi-Fi Alliance, USB-IF Compliance Program and Windows Logo Program.
